# Components:
→ Vanilla Wafers
01 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
02 - 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
04 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
05 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
06 - 1 large egg
07 - 1 tablespoon milk
08 - 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
→ Dipping Chocolate
09 - 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
10 - 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening, optional
# Method Steps:
01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
03 - In a larger bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
04 - Incorporate the egg, milk, and vanilla extract into the creamed mixture, mixing until well combined.
05 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
06 - Drop teaspoon-sized mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
07 - Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until edges begin to turn golden. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
08 - Combine chopped chocolate and optional coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring each time until smooth and melted.
09 - Dip half of each cooled vanilla wafer into the melted chocolate. Allow excess to drip off, place on parchment paper, and refrigerate for 10 minutes to set.
